He had been a resident of Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, since August 1989.
He was born Oct. 28, 1898 in the town of summit (Langlade County), a son of the late Mathias and Leopoldina Knorr Kluball. He attended Sleepy Hollow School in the Town of Summit.
On Oct. 11, 1930, he married Hertha Gerdes in Gleason. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1980. The couple farmed near Gleason until 1938, when they moved to Jeffries, where they operated a store and tavern. They returned to Gleason in 1942; four years later moved to Antigo, and in 1958 they moved to Appleton where he was employed as a carpenter, retiring in 1970. The couple moved to rural New Holstein in 1985.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, New Holstein.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Lila (Nelson) Lechler or rural New Holstein, Mrs. Arlene (Roy) Lechler or rural Kiel, and Mrs. Donna (Bernard) Urban of rural Antigo; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Theresa Kegler and Mrs. Minnine Steger, both of Deerbrook, Mrs. Frieda Hauenstein of Antigo, Mrs. Marge Gilegenbach of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Tillie Wohlmuth of Green Bay.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, New Holstein. The Rev. Victor Kuerschner, pastor, officiated. Burial will be in Eaton Cemetery, Town of Eaton.
