Cody M. Lechler, 12, of Kiel died unexpectedly Friday evening at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born Nov. 15, 1993 in Appleton, the son of Tammy Pieper Start and Ken Lechler. Cody was currently in the sixth grade at the Kiel Middle School. He was active in school sports, including basketball and soccer, and he enjoyed playing football and fishing. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, New Holstein.

Survivors include his parents; Ken Lechler of rural New Holstein and Tammy (Steve) Stark of Kiel; one brother, Tyler Lechler of Kiel; two step-brothers, Carter and Brady Stark of Kiel; his paternal grandmother, Lila Lechler of rural New Holstein; maternal grandparents, James and Mary Pieper of New Holstein; maternal great grandmother Thelma Pieper of new Holstein; maternal great grandfather, Orville Muellenbach of St. Cloud.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein, the Rev. John Scheck officiating. Burial will be in the Eaton Cemetery.
