Roy C Lechler, 72, of 8122 Hwy 67, Kiel (Town of Eaton) died Friday Feb. 28, 2005 at his home. He was born February 16, 1933 in the Town of Eaton, son of the late James and Selma (Hansen) Lechler.
Roy attended Elder Grove School and Kiel High School. From 1956 until 1958 He served with the US Army in Germany. On September 20, 1958 he married the former Arlene Kluball at St. John's UCC in New Holstein. For 60 years, Roy farmed in the Town of Eaton, during which time he also worked at Lake to Lake for eight years, Kiel Sand and Gravel for 12 years and Riesterer and Schnell for 18 years. After his retirement, Roy worked at Stell's Piggly Wiggly in New Holstein. He was a very active member of St. John's UCC in New Holstein. He also enjoyed working with wood.
Survivors include his wife Arlene; towodaughters, Karen (Dean) Buelke of Waldo, and Linda (Steward) Kuehl of Plymouth, two grandchildren Kayla and Chris Buelke; two step grandchildren Elizabeth and Leah Kuehl. Roy is also survived by one brother Ray (Glorian) Lechler of Kiel; two sisters Grace (Leon) Mueller of School Hill, and Doris Gross of Kiel, and two sisters-in-law, Lila Lechler and Marianne Lechler. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by two brothers Nelson and Eugene Lechler and one brother-in-law Steven Gross.
