Mass of Christian Burial for Duane Cassidy, age 77 of Lynch, Nebraska, will be 1 p.m. Wed, Jan 2, 2013, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Lynch. Reverend Tim Podraza will be Celebrant, with burial in the parish cemetery. Brockhaus Funeral Home of Spencer, Nebraska, is in charge of arrangements.

Duane died Sunday, Dec 23, 2012, at his home in Lynch. Duane Lamar Cassidy, son of Chester "Patrick" and Alice Evelyn (Norwood) Cassidy, was born on Sep 4, 1935, in Lynch, Nebraska.

Duane graduated from Lynch High School in 1953, and taught school in Red Bird, Nebraska, before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1954, where he served for three years.

After his enlistment was up, Duane returned to Lynch, where he married Jackie Lueken, and began farming with his father.

While farming, Duane also worked numerous years as a custodian at the Lynch High School. He and Jackie spent their entire life living and working in Lynch.

Duane died on Dec 23, 2012, in Lynch, Nebraska, having attained the age of 77 years and three months.

Duane is survived by his children, Alice (Cassidy) Nelson and spouse Charles of Burlington, Kansas, Galen Cassidy and spouse Brenda of Spring Valley, California, Steve Cassidy and spouse Meleony of Lynch, Nebraska; and Terry Cassidy of Lynch; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted Cassidy of San Diego, California, and Chet Cassidy of Fullerton, California; and a sister, Bonnie (Cassidy) Loock of Bristow, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester "Patrick" and Alice Cassidy; and his beloved wife, Jacquline Ann (Lueken) Cassidy, who died on Jul 19, 2006.
