Mr and Mrs John Clinch drowned during the flooding of the Whiskey Creek after a heavy rainfall.

The high water forced many families from their homes, and when searchers went to check to see how Mr. and Mrs. Clinch were faring, they were unable to find the house at first as it had been swept about a block from where it originally stood.

When the searchers were able to safely make it back to their home, that is when they discovered they did not survive the flood.
