Funeral services for James W. Geater, long-time Vinton farmer, who died at his farm home north of Vinton Saturday, April 27, 1940, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Geater, who had been ill for about four years, died of a complication of diseases.

He was born July 2, 1869 at Vinton, a son of George and Sarah Geater. He was married November 1, 1899 to Minnie Viola Keller, who with one son, Earl of Vinton and three grandchildren, survives. Also surviving is one brother, Charles, of Vinton. Three brothers preceded him in death.
Mr Geater had lived on his farm for 45 years. He was a member of the Vinton Methodist church and Modern Woodmen lodge.
