Rosalie Ann Abadia was born on May 19th 1952 in Caldwell, Idaho, the second child of Agustin Abadia and Miren Badiola, two Basque immigrants who already had one baby boy, her older brother James Victor. After graduating from the Marsing High School in May 1970, she attended Boise State College for two years, continuing her studies at the Saint Alphonsus Hospital school of radiologyy, where she obtained a Radiology Technician's degree in 1974. Shortly afterward she was offered a job at the Bispebjerg Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she worked for three years. In 1978 she moved to Bilbao, in the Basque Country to work at the Basurto Hospital. One year later she met her future husband, Jose Ramon Elua, whom she married on October 8th, 1982. Their two sons were born in Caldwell, Idaho: Aitor in 1984 and Iker in 1986. Rosalie was diagnosed with lung cancer on August 25th, 2008, dying exactly one year later, on August 25th 2009.

Her ashes will be scattered on the family ranch in Marsing, following her final will.

Rosalie will be missed and remembered by her many friends and acquaintances for her natural intelligence, her unshakeable kindness and her loving heart.

Memorial Mass for Rosalie will be held Monday, May 17th, 2010 at 11:00 AM at our Lady of the Valley, Caldwell.

A farewell luncheon will be held at Txoko Ona in Homedale following the mass. Everyone is welcome.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
