Earl C. Beckort, 90, Corydon, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Jan. 2, 1920, in Laconia, he was the son of the late Porter and Elma Timberlake Beckort.
He was retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation, Seymour District, and a member of Union Chapel Church in Laconia.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Carl (Bill) Beckort; a brother, Melvin Beckort; and a great-great-grandson, Ryan Longest.
Survivors include his wife, the former Helen Fulkerson; two sons, Jack Beckort of Scottsburg and Ronald Beckort of Crestwood, Ky.; a daughter, Diana Harris of Corydon; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, May 10, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 11, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, May 11, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Lanny Amy.
Pallbearers: John, Jeff, and Jason Beckort, Darren Bennett, Butch Green, Ramblyn Rose and Steve Schubert.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
