Born in Knox County Kentucky to John McVey and (Martha) Ellen Warren, she married in 1917 to Alex Tuggle, a coal miner.
The happy newlyweds made Knox County their home, living in Barbourville and later Heidrick. They were blessed with children and life was good.
They celebrated 35 years of marriage in 1952 and Alex celebrated his 56th birthday . . . . never knowing it would be his last. Alex's sudden death that December was a shock to all, especially to his grieving widow.
Sarah did what strong women do . . . she picked-up the pieces and went on with life. Afterall, there were still children in the home to feed and nurture.
Sarah, blessed with longevity, had cake on her 89th birthday in Apr 1889 and passed away in mid-May when the wild flowers were in full bloom.
Surviving the love of her life for 37 years, she is once again at his side. Sarah was laid to rest in Tuggle Cemetery in Heidrick, where she again joins the ones she loves; not only Alex, but also Mom and Dad.
