He was born February 9, 1919 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of Severin and Anne (LaPorte) Kreitler who both preceded him in death.
He married Morena M. Fallert on November 17th, 1969. She survives.
Survivors include: a brother, Richard Kreitler of Farmington; and two sisters, Pauline Payne of St. Louis and Mary Anne Bennett of Knob Noster.
Three brothers, Bill, Ray and Francis Kreitler and two sisters, Carrie Scherer and Lorene Jokerst, also preceded him in death.
He was a member of Ste. Genevieve VFW Post No. 2210.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. VFW members will gather at 7 p.m. at the funeral home for a service.
A funeral for 85-year-old Ben D. Kreitler of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 29th at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Hager will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Masses or to a charity of donor's choice.
