Cecil was born in Hewett, WV, the 6th of 12 children born to Elza "Snowden" Sansom and Artimisha "Artie" Ball Sansom. He moved with the family to Julian, WV around 1936. Cecil left home in Feb., 1945 to work for Davey Tree Expert Company in Charleston, WV. He worked in WV, PA, MI,and OH before transferring to FL in 1965. He retired after 32 years to retire again from the Florida DOT in March, 1995.

Married Doris Jean Drummond on 3.12.1949 at the Highland Ave. Methodist Church in the Bellview area of Fairmont, WV.

Only child: Donna Jean Sansom born 9.5.1951 in Fairmont, WV.
