Henry William Meier was born August 12, 1834, at Dankelsheim, Germany. He came to America in 1862 and settled at Platteville, Wisconsin, where he followed his trade as mason until old age no longer permitted it. Since last fall he had made his home with his son Fred on the Humbert place, where he passed away May 31st owing to liver trouble.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday by Rev A J Boehm of the French Grove Lutheran church and the remains were shipped to Wisconsin for burial.

Besides a large circle of relatives in that state the deceased leaves three sons here. They are William Meier, of Clemons; and Fred and Henry Meier, of this place.

June 3, 1909 State Center Enterprise.

Note: He also left a son Herman (Dave) Meier of State Center - the article doesn't mention, probably because at the time Herman and his family lived in Madelia, Minnesota.
