Ed. Westphalen of New Holstein Dies Wednesday
New Holstein - (Special) - Edmund Westphalen, 51, well-known Steinthal farmer, died at his home there Wednesday night at 8:30 o'clock of heart disease.
He was born in town Eaton on Feb. 27, 1889, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Westphalen. On June 14, 1911, he married Loraine Nottling of town Rhine. He was a carpenter for two years and then purchased a farm in Steinthal, where he resided since.
He was a member and elder of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church of New Holstein, member of the Churchmen's Brotherhood, and an officer of the Eaton cemetery board.
His wife died in September, 1936, and the only child died in infancy.
Survivors are two brothers and three sisters, Roland and Mrs. Oscar Ninmer of Steinthal, Ernst of town Eaton, Mrs. Herman Buchholz of Megers and Mrs. Edgar Roehl of Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Meiselwitz Funeral home in Kiel, and at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church here, the Rev. A. G. Schmid officiating, with burial in town Eaton cemetery. Time of services has not yet been announced.
