Everette Dewitt Horne, 74, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional. He was the husband of the late Virginia Garner Horne and son of the late O.L. Branch and Lucille Horne Murray and husband, Luther (Red) Murray.

Mr. Horne was a member of Hammett Grove Baptist Church, retired from Spartanburg Steel and a four year veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a son, James Everette Horne and wife, Debra, of Glendale; grandchildren, Angela Bradley and husband, Jon of Glendale, Ashley Winter Duckett and husband, Derrick of Spartanburg, and Adam Horne of Glendale; great-grandchildren, Grace and Wesley Bradley, both of Glendale; brothers and sisters, Barbara Webster of Dacusville, Brenda Byers of Gaffney, Betty Ann Denton of Columbus, NC, Becky Collins of Glen Springs, Dickie Murray of Boiling Springs, Jack Murray of Glen Springs, Buddy Murray of Boiling Springs, Jimmy Murray of Kansas City, MO, Betty Camp of Pacolet, and Annette Coyle of Gaffney. He was predeceased by a son, David Horne; a sister, Deloris Murray; and a brother, Ronnie Murray.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 14, 2010, at Hammett Grove Baptist Church officiated by Revs. Buddy Hogan, Harold Patton, and Ralph Jett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the White Oak Estates Sr. Activities Fund, 400 Webber Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
