Walter A. Giblin Jr., a Post-Dispatch printer for 32 years, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 1990) of cancer at his home in Hillsboro. He was 65.
Mr. Giblin retired in 1980 from the Post-Dispatch, where he had worked for 10 years as foreman of the newspaper's job printing department. Before that he worked in the newspaper's composing room.
Mr. Giblin served in the Army in World War II. He was active in the Big River Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Cedar Hill and the Cedar Hill Elks Lodge.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill . Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Among survivors are his wife, Dorothy M. Giblin of Hillsboro; three sons, William P. Giblin of Cedar Hill , Timothy F. Giblin of Arnold, and Walter A. Giblin III of Affton; a brother, John J. Giblin of Florissant; a step-brother, Harold Nagle of St. John; and five grandchildren.
