John E. Schoolfield was the son of George B. Schoolfield (1862-1915) and Jennie S. BRIMM Schoolfield (1874-1948) .. Jennie later married Rufus James.

According to the funeral information, John was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery along with another sibling who died on September 28, 1917 (an unknown 4-year old child).

It is interesting to note that while John and the child were both buried in Oak Grove, his parents were buried in Neely Chapel Cemetery in Miston, Dyer Co., Tennessee. Several of George and Jennie's adult children were later buried in Neely Chapel Cemetery as well.
