Viola L. (Nee Nachtrab) Knack, 111, of Oshkosh, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Park View Health Center. She was born on August 18, 1901 in the Town of Black Wolf the daughter of John and Helen (Luebke) Nachtrab. She was confirmed by Rev. Barre at St John's Lutheran Church, Nekimi on April 5, 1914. She married Edwin Knack on October 24, 1923 in the Town of Nekimi. Edwin preceded her in death on April 5, 1959.
She worked at the Athern Hotel for many years, and then at the Oshkosh Trunk and Luggage until it closed, from there she worked at U. S. Motors until her retirement.
Viola loved playing cards with her sister and friends, traveling, and going to dances. She was an excellent baker her cinnamon raisin coffee cake was her specialty. She also loved Bozo and Sandy, who were her dogs from years gone by. She was a very devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, Van Dyne.
Survivors include her niece, Dolores Gade of Oshkosh; great niece, Susan (Gary) Fauske of Oshkosh; and great-great niece, Alicia (Fiancé, Gregory Valdez) Olesen of Oshkosh. Viola is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Lydia Noble; brothers, Edgar and Martin Nachtrab; and nephews Gary Gade and Donald Nachtrab.
The funeral service will be on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Van Dyne with the Rev. Lester Fritz officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will be in Knack (Zion Lutheran) Cemetery
