TRUMAN RABE

Truman H. Rabe, 83, formerly of 611 Second St., Kiel, died Saturday evening, June 27, 1998, at Willowdale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein.
He was born Aug. 6, 1914 in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, son of the late Otto and Emma Lawrence Rabe. He attended the former Elder Grove Grade School in the town of Eaton.On July 20, 1938 he married the former Luella H. Maurer at St. Peter's UCC in Kiel. The couple celebrated their 50th and 55th wedding anniversaries.
Luella died April 28, 1995.Truman worked for a number of years for the Manitowoc County Highway Department and also farmed in the town of Schleswig for 40 years, retiring in 1978 when the couple moved to Kiel.
He was a member of St. Peter's UCC in Kiel and served on the school boards for the towns of Schleswig and Eaton. He enjoyed making furniture for his family, spending time with his children and grandchildren and traveling.
Survivors include his five children, 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Wendling of Reedsville. (Survivors edited for privacy)
He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, Jeffrey Scott Rabe; two sisters and five brothers.
