Dennis B O'Malley the son of a farmer John & Mary Wexford (Ryan)O'Malley. Born in the County Limerick, Ireland, on July 22, 1811. Attended the Royal College of Maynooth & studied Architecture.
He left Ireland in 1849 on the ship Miltiades for New Orleans. He traveled from there to Cincinnati, Ohio; Evansville, IN; Webster County, KY; and McLean County, KY, where he married Lucretia Fulkerson on August 23, 1852.
Dennis & Lucretia O'Malley relocated to Union County KY in 1855, where their son Charles J. O'Malley was born on Feb. 9, 1857.
Mr. O'Malley planned and made the Gothic windows of Sacred Heart Church. He was born in the Catholic Church, and remained true to his faith until his death on Oct. 16, 1881.
He was a man of warm, faithful friendship, & hot, impetuous temper. He is remembered by all as the soul of honor, & true as steel.
