Lydia R. Oelerich, age 92, of Kiel died Saturday afternoon, Sept. 25, 1999 at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein where she had been a resident for the past 11 years.
She was the former Lydia Lilge, born on July 31, 1907, daughter of the late August and Bertha Jeske Lilge. On June 23, 1934 she married Lester Prange. He died on May 22, 1950.
In 1953 she married Oscar Oelerich at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel. He died in 1961.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel, the church's Ladies Aid and was an honorary member of the H.C.E. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include three daughters, Doris (Lloyd) Mahloch of rural Kiel, Janet (Edward) Schneeweis of Sun City, Arizona, Donna (Donald) Casper of rural New Holstein; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Jurgens of Valders and Beata Radder of Plymouth; one stepdaughter, Elsie Franzen of Plymouth; and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Prange, six brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel, with Rev. David Laabs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Louis Comers. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church. Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel are service coordinators.
