Mrs. George Rabe, Sr. died at her home in Kiel Tuesday morning. She had been ill for the past three months. She was 70 years old.
Nee Lydia Roehl, she was born March 16, 1884, in the town of Schleswig, the daughter of the late Christian and Anna Roehrborn Roehl. She attended rural schools and was baptized July 25, 1884 in the town of Herman. She was confirmed at the Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed church, town of Schleswig.
September 20, 1902, she was married to George Rabe, town of Eaton, at the Zion Lutheran church, Louis Corners. The couple operated a farm in the town of Schleswig until their retirement in 1944, when they moved to Kiel.
They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1952. She was a member of the Ladies' Aid society of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; five children, namely; Mrs. Armie Rautmann, town of Meeme; Harry of Millhome; Norman on the homestead; Lester, near Plymouth; George, Jr. near New Holstein; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Henry of Plymouth and Edgar of Sheboygan.
