ALBERT C SCHMITT

Albert C. Schmitt, 84, of 614 10th Street, Kiel, died Tuesday evening, December 10, at Willowdale Nursing home, New Holstein, where he had been a resident for the past month.
He was born August 14, 1907, in the town of Rhine, son of the late Peter and Appolonia Zimmermann Schmitt. Schmitt attended school in Rhine Center. He operated a garage in School Hill for a number of years and also was a carpenter for Ray Maurer in Kiel, until his retirement.
On September 1, 1934, he married the former Irma Henschel at St. James United church of Christ, Spring Valley. She died December 29, 1990. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Louis Corners.
Survivors include one brother, Herbert Schmitt, of rural Elkhart Lake; three sisters, Edna Roeck of Kiel; and Hildred Mathes and Ella Herman, both of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
Funeral services were Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. Rev. James Bartz, pastor officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
