Kiel – Mrs. Johanna Voigt, 81, nee Johanna Paul, died at her home here Tuesday night and was found dead in her bed this morning. She was the widow of Johan Voigt, who died in 1898. Mrs. Voigt was born Nov. 21, 1854, in Germany, and came to America with her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Christian Paul, at the age of three, to locate in the town of Schleswig. After her marriage to Mr. Paul, she and her husband lived on a farm in the town of Schleswig, and in 1906 she moved to Kiel, where she lived at 504 Chicago Street.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Louis Schram of Plymouth, Mrs. Oscar Voigt and Mrs. Gustave Matznick, who lives near Kiel, Mrs. Ferdinand Humer and Mrs. Anton Frauenhoffer, both of Highland Park, Ill.; one son, Herman of Appleton; three brothers, Levi Paul of Coleman, Wis., William of town of Meeme, and Louis of St. Nazianz; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Sewald of Coleman, Wis., and Mrs. Mary Scheel of New Holstein; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Ferdinand Krueger of Chilton, died May 24, 1934.
The funeral services will be held Friday at the C. J. Meiselwitz home here and at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. H. O. Grunwald will officiate and burial will be in the Zion Lutheran cemetery at Louis Corners.
