Mrs. Magdalene Weitzel, 67, town of Rhine, died at 11:10 Thursday night at the Plymouth Hospital following a brief illness which resulted from a stroke Tuesday.
Mrs. Weitzel was born March 30, 1874 in the town of Holland and at an early age moved to the Louis Sonneman farm with her parents in the town of Meeme. She married Fred Weitzel March 22, 1897 and the couple resided on a farm near Rhine until Mr. Weitzel's death in April, 1940. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. William Grunewald, and two sons, Arthur and Oscar, all of Rhein; two grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Sonneman, Meeme, and William Sonneman of Colby and two sisters, Mrs. John Gatzke, Plymouth and Mrs. Max Boettcher, Meeme. She had two children which preceeded her in death, Arno in infancy and Edgar in 1917.
Services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Meiselwitz Funeral Home at Kiel and at 2:00 from the Zion Lutheran church at Louis Corners.
Internment (sic) will be at the church cemetery adjoining. The Rev. Harold L. Grunwald will officiate. The remains can be viewed from Sunday afternoon until the hour of services Monday.
