Captain Lillard E. Pratt Killed In Action -
Mrs. Carl Samuelson and Mrs. Bernard Samuelson received word Sunday that their brother, Captain Lillard E. Pratt, 28, was killed in action in Germany, February 22. He was serving in the 90th division of General Patton's Third Army. Until a recent transfer to the infantry he was in the field artillery.
Lillard was a graduate of the Rising City high school and a graduate of the College of Agriculture, University of Nebraska. He was a member of the Farm House Fraternity.
Before his induction into the army he was manager of the Swift's Turkey Packing Plant at Torrington, Wyoming. He also raised turkeys extensively on a farm he owned near there.
He is survived by his wife and two boys, David, 3, and John, 20 months, at Torrington, Wyoming, his mother, Mrs. H.S.Burgess of Silver Creek, Nebraska, two sisters of Palmer and one brother, Cpl. Randall A. Pratt serving somewhere in the Pacific.

WALTER - PRATT
Mrs. H.S. Burgess and son Randall were at Lincoln Sunday, July 30 where they attended the wedding of Miss Pauline Walter of Lincoln and Lillard Pratt, son of Mrs. Burgess who were united in marriage at the Warren M.E. church at 5:30 that afternoon.
The bride wore a maize silk crepe dress with beautiful corsage, while the groom wore a steel gray suit.
Both the bride and groom are university graduates, class of 1938 and the wedding was attended by many friends they had won during their college attendance. Guests from out side of Lincoln included Miss Virginia Walter, sister of the bride, of Kansas, and her brother Chester, who is county agent at Wayne, Neb.
After the ceremony a reception was given at the home of a friend of the bride in Lincoln where each guest was served orange sherbet, orange wafers and a generous piece of the wedding cake.
The bride was a teacher in the home economics department of the Albion high school during the last school year.
Mr. and Mrs. Pratt will be at home to their friends after August 2 at Henry, Neb., where the groom resumes his duties as field manager over a large turkey area that he has been in charge of for the past year.
