Clayton E. Double, 89, father of William K. Double, Decatur, died Saturday at his home in Huntington.
Born Oct. 20, 1892, near Ossian, he was the son of William and Mary Belle-Double, and was married to Charlotte Kay on Nov. 4, 1916, she died Jan, 1, 1946. He was later married March 6, 1948 to Meta Fahrnow, who survives. He was a retired farmer and later worked at Harry's Tire Shop in Huntington.
Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Maxine Herbst, Uniondale, two stepdaughters, three stepsons, two brothers, four grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and seven step great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Bailey Mortuary, Huntington. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
