Mrs. Bonnie Burnette (Burnett), wife of John Burnette, died this morning at 1 o'clock at a local hospital of peritonitis. She had been sick the past year but one week ago she was taken seriously ill and the end came this morning at the hour stated.
Mrs. Burnette was the daughter of John Cunningham and was reared at Gaylesville in Cherokee county. She came to Gadsden about 18 years ago and has made her home in this city ever since moving to this county. She is the granddaughter of Carter McCullough, who was for 40 years postmaster at Ringgold, Georgia.
Besides her husband, the deceased leaves one brother, Dr. J.C. Cunningham, of Hixon, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. W.L. Pyle of Rome, Ga., Mrs. O.J. Lomer and Mrs. I.C. Ballard of this city.
The remains were removed to the home of Dr. I.C. Ballard at 1148 Walnut Street.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of Dr. I.C. Ballard on Walnut Street by Rev. Clarkson. The interment will be at Forrest Cemetery. The Guy Woodliff funeral home is handling the funeral arrangements.
