Amelia S. Devine,94, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1996, in Delaware County Memorial Care Center after a lingering illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan. The Rev. Ralph Simington will officiate. The family will greet friends after 4 p.m. today at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home, Manchester, where there will be a rosary at 4:30 and Scripture service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, where a rosary begins at 10 a.m.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. William Devine of Eldora, and Bernard Devine and wife May of Manchester; a daughter, Rosemary McAleer and husband Robert of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and eight sisters.
She was the 13th child born to Reinert and Anna Felder Kirschbaum on July 20, 1902, in Cassville, Wis.
Amelia married William B. Devine on Aug. 24, 1925. He died in 1974.
She was a nurse's aide for nearly 20 years at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Amelia was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters and loved to do tatting.
The 4:30 p.m. rosary will be conducted by Catholic Daughters
