Josephine Gregoroski

Josephine Gregoroski, 96, died Tuesday, May 18, in Manor Care in Springfield. She was born February 17, 1914 in Elyria, Nebraska.

She was the fifth child of Stanley and Anna Maslonka Baran and was the last survivor of eight children. She married Thomas E. Gregoroski, in October 1931. She worked many years as a seamstress in Obermans, Calverts, Springfield Garment and other garment factories in Springfield and surrounding areas. After retirement she was active in the Salvation Army Seniors and the downtown Seniors groups.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Ted Gregoroski, Carl Gregoroski, Alvina (Damian) Tasset, Evelyn (Robert) Anderson, Christine (James) Bynum; 13 grandchildren, Gaye Thorne, Ruth Stayton, Laura Gregoroski, Brett Boyer, Teresa King, Tom Gregoroski, John Gregoroski, Theresa Robertson, Carol Ellis, Darrell Anderson, Susan Love, Christopher Bynum, and Sarah Nelson. She also had 26 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday May 22, 2010 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Denis Dougherty O.S.B. celebrant.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 East Walnut, Springfield, MO.

Visitation and Rosary services will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday May 21, 2010 in the funeral home.
