PEDESTRIAN IS KILLED - WILLIAM LOUIS OSBORN, 55-year-old St. Francis farmer, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, November 14, 1971, at Mary Immaculate Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident Saturday night. Osborn was struck by a car driven by Thomas Gary Miles, Loretto, while walking along Ky. 527 at the southern limits of St. Francis at 8:45 p.m. Saturday. A native of St. Francis, he was a son of the late William Louis Osborn Sr. and Sarah Florence Thompson Osborn. He was a World War II veteran. Surviving are a son, William Louis Osborn III, California; two brothers, Jim and Noel B. Osborn, Louisville; and five sisters, Mrs. William B. (Rosemary) Peterson, Loretto, Miss Irene Osborn, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Celeste Cope and Mrs. Charles B. (Rebecca) Mattingly, Louisville, and Mrs. Francis (Anna) Carrico of Granger, Ind. The Rev. Patrick Creed conducted the funeral at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Mattingly Funeral Home, where a prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, was in charge of arrangements.
