Trion, Ga. - Arvil "Hop" Wilbanks, of Rt. 1, Trion, Ga, died Tues. in a Summerville, Ga. nursing home. He was 77.
A native of Walker County Ga., he was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and was retired from the finishing department of Mt. Vernon-Riegal Textile Corp.
He was a son of the late Charles L. and Pearlie Mae Denton Wilbanks.
Survivors include his wife, Loudain Wilbanks, Trion; a daughter Bobbie Smith, Jackson, Ga; A sister Bonnie White, Trion; two brothers, Herman Wilbanks, Jonesboro, Ga. and Frank "Bill" Wilbanks, Trion; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services were held today at 2 p.m. in the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home, Summerville, Ga. with Minister, Hugh Glaze and Minister Mike Mitchell officiating.
Burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
Arvin Len was the 3rd of seven children born to Charles Alonzo Wilbanks and Pearlie Mae (Denton). He married Loudaine (Sanford). He worked in a dye plant.
