Leoda was also survived by her daughter, Vivian C. Mau, nee Fisher.
Leoda was the daughter, and one of many children, of Clement V. McNair and Martha Ann Smith Childers. Her parents moved to Calaveras County from Tennessee, and Clement became a quartz miner in that region.
Leoda was also known as Leoda G. Fischer. She married John J. Fischer in 1883 when she was 21 years old. The couple lived in the Murphys-Sheepranch area of Calaveras County where John farmed. They had four children, but Leoda outlived all but one. Her children's names were George Grover Fischer, Vivian "Viva" Fischer, Robert McLean Fischer, and Dewey M. Fischer.
After her husband passed away in 1927, Leoda married Johnny Jack Darrow. He preceded her in death in 1944.
Although her obituary did not mention her daughter, Leoda's daughter did outlive her, not the other way around.
