Mr. Brown resided in Sonora for the last ten years of his life. He passed away at his home on a Monday evening from consumption, now commonly known as TB.

Lee L. Brown was the son of Benjamin W. Brown and the step-son of Sarah V. Benjamin's previous wife and mother of his children had passed away, but her mother remained living with the Brown Family. Mr. Brown's mother-in-law was Eliza Gather, who was born in Pennsylvania as was her father. Her mother was born in New Jersey. Eliza was born in 1817.

Benjamin married Sarah V. in 1895. She was a hat maker.

Lee Brown's brothers, were Tom and James. Tom was born August 1888, and James was born in August 1890. His sister, Frankie, was born about 1879.
