Cornelius W Abel

C W "Neal" Abel, 53, prominent business man of Decatur, passed away at his residence on Memorial Drive at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, following a long illness. Mr Abel, who was born at Macon, Ga, has been a resident of Decatur since 1901, being actively connected with Abel Bros Plumbing Company for 23 years.

Funeral services will be held at West Decatur Methodist church at 3 o'clock this afternoon with Reverends Aldridge and Blythe in charge of the rites, interment to follow at Decatur cemetery with Brown in charge of funeral arrangements.

Knights Templar will serve as pallbearers and be in charge of services at the grave. The Eastern Star will attend in a body.

The deceased is survived by his widow; a step-daughter, Miss Marie Looney; his mother, Mrs DeMaricus Abel, of Decatur, and two brothers, C E Abel of Birmingham and Henry P Abel, of Decatur.

Mr Abel was well-known and highly esteemed here, and his death proved a great shock to the community.
