David E. Houck, age 69, of Lead Hill died Wednesday, May 19 (2010) at his home after a long battle with leukemia.

He was born Jan. 19, 1941, the son of Eston V. and Mildred Lee (Boswell) Houck.

David is now at rest with Jesus his Lord and Master. He professed his faith in Christ at the age of seven. Through the years, he served the Lord in his local church as an active member, a Bible study director, and Bible study leader. His last place of membership and service was the First Baptist Church of Lead Hill. He loved the church and believed that God is working His will through believers who are faithfully serving God through their local churches.

He was an architect and practiced his profession in Illinois, Arizona and California. He retired in Lead Hill in 2002 and resided there until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Steven Gary Houck.

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Houck of the home; a brother, Phillip Houck, and wife, Carol, of Denver, Colorado; a son, James David Houck, and wife, Elizabeth, of King George, Virginia; two daughters, Monica Jeanette Kelty and husband, Edward Kelty, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jennifer Jean Stoltz and husband, Shawn Stoltz, of Phoenix, Arizona; two step-sons, Kelly Wood and Kevin Wood of Wichita, Kansas; a step-daughter, Jaynean Wood of Wichita, Kansas; 19 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, all who mourn his passing.

Visitation will be at 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 24, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the First Baptist Church in Lead Hill with Rev. Rodney Fry officiating.

Burial will follow in Milum Cemetery at Lead Hill with pallbearers being James Houck, Charlie Houck, Joseph Houck, Edward Kelty, Shawn Stoltz and Kevin Wood.
