Meehan Rites Conducted In Viola Monday
Funeral services for Joseph A. Meehan, 64 years old, who passed away at his home southeast of Aledo, Friday morning, March 1, 1935, following a heart attack, were conducted Monday morning from St. John's Catholic church in Viola.
Rev. John Callahan, assistant rector of St. Catherine's parish in Aledo, officiated and interment was in the Calvary cemetery in Rock Island.
Mr. Meehan was born near Milan but had resided near Aledo for the past 35 years. He was married to Miss Elizabeth McCarthy of Edgington, January 24, 1900.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic in Viola.
Surviving are the widow and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Dolan of Stuart, Ia. and Mrs. Elizabeth Howard of Omaha, Neb.
Pallbearers were Frank Dacy, Martin Ryan, M. W. Conway, Martin Ayers, William Brown and John O'Dea.
