Carol Ann Goll Burris, 69, of Woodburn, Indiana, died Monday, February 6, 2006 at Parkview North Hospice Care, Ft Wayne, Indiana. Born in Indianapolis, she was a 1954 graduate of Ben Davis High School and attended Butler University. In high school she participated in Booster Club, Sunshine Club, Dramatic Club, Thespian, SPQR, Freshman Clinic, Senior Clinic, Senior Library Staff and Freshman Cheerleader. She was a member of Woodburn United Methodist Church, Woodburn. She formerly lived in Indianapolis, Marion and Ft Wayne. Carol was a dance instructor; a published writer in Guideposts, Abingdon Press and numerous magazines; a legal secretary and an inspirational speaker. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev J Steven Burris; children: Lisa Darlene Wamsley of Germantown, WI; Mark Steven Burris of Woodburn; Susan Carol Gude of Indianapolis; Rev Paul Christian Burris of S Whitley; Dr Deborah Burris-Kitchen of Nashville, TN; and John Matthew Burris of Indianapolis; father, Robert Goll of Indianapolis; sisters: Virginia Ruth Gillespie of Martinsville,IN; Linda Alice York of Franklin, IN; 12 grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She was prededed in death by her mother, Evelyn Goll. Service is 1:00 pm, Thursday, at Simpson United Methodist Church, 2501 S Harrison, Ft Wayne, with calling 1 hour before service time at the church. Rev Dr Donald Dean Carpenter, Rev David Matthews and Rev Toni Carmer will be officiating. Calling is also 1:00-4:00 & 6:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday, at E harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy 930 E, New Haven. Burial is in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Ft Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Matthew 25 Health Clinic, 413 E Jefferson Blvd, Ft Wayne, IN.
