Lynn Agee (1907 - 1953) Lynn was born 26 June 1907 in Wellington, Menifee County Kentucky. He died 9 December 1953 in Middletown, Butler County Ohio. Son of Andrew Coolidge Agee and Delilah Belle Jones. Lynn’s name is listed as Raymond Lynn Agee on Edith Agee birth certificate. The 1910 Menifee County Kentucky census lists his name as Lem N. Marriage license of Lynn and Ethel show name as Lynn, as well as most other references to him. 13 May 1933, Lynn Agee, married Ethel Mae Lawrence in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. Witnesses Grace Agee - Robinson and Hugh Robinson. Lynn and Ethel had eight children: G.L., B.J., Marion Andrew, Raymond Lynn, Gary Woodford, Larry Edward. Gary and Larry were twins, they were born prematurely. Larry died on one day, and Gary at four weeks. E.M., and Edith Marie. Edith was also born prematurely, died on the same day as birth. 09 December 1953, at 1625 Lynn Agee died from injuries sustained four days earlier in an automobile accident. Just prior to his death, Ethel who had been constantly at his bedside, reluctantly left the hospital at the urging of the family to go home and get a little rest and freshen up. As she was leaving she kept saying “I know he will die if I leave”. Ethel’s daughter and son-in-law drove her home. As they pulled into the drive the neighbor met them, telling them the hospital had called and they needed to return. As they entered the hall that Lynn was on, they were greeted with nurses lining both sides of the hallway with their hats off and heads bowed. Some of the staff were crying and sobbing as Ethel walked past. 14 December 1953, Funeral arrangements for Lynn Agee were provided by Joseph R Baker and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clifford Hutchinson of the Grand Ave Church Of God officiating. Interment was at the Middletown Cemetery. Lynn was buried in the Agee plot with his dad, three children, and a grandson. Lynn was a tall (over 6’ 5”) man. It was said of him, that his friends loved him and his enemies feared him.
