Her name was Anna/Annah J. "Jane" from the census, marriage and on the birth record of one of the children. She was one of seven children of Andrew J. Whipple, 1824-1907, born in Massachusetts and who had a gristmill in Saegertown PA, and Hannah Jane Carr born in NY. In the 1870 census she was enumerated as Anna J., age 3, residing with her parents Andrew and Hannah Whipple in Saegertown PA.

She married Charles A. Littlefield born in Wells Maine who was a manufacturer and civic leader of Lynn Massachusetts. At one time he was also a clergyman. They married Feb 5, 1890 in Malden or Springfield (recorded both places), Massachusetts and had children including those linked here and a daughter Dorcas A. Littlefield born 1902.

In the 1920 census Jane was age 52 and Charles was 64. In the household with them were children Dorcas age 17 and Horace J. age 15. Also residing with them was Jane's mother Hannah Whipple age 88, born in New York. Charles was at that time a box manufacturer.

Dorcas Alice Littlefield married Benjamin Franklin Hawkins son of Benjamin L. and Margaret (Carr) Hawkins Dec 1, 1928 in Manhattan. He was from St Louis Missouri and was living there in 1920. I was not able to find where Alice was buried.

In 1930 Jane W. Littlefield and husband Charles resided in Lynn. Jane was age 62 and had been married at 32. Charles was 75 and had been first married at 35 so Jane would have been his second wife.

Jane died at 72 years old, wife of the late Charles Alwin Littlefield. Charles died at age 80 in 1936.
