Son of Ray Spence Boots and Grace May O'Banion. He married Freda Delight(Stevens) Simmons on 22 Jan 1944 in Grant Co., Indiana.


He was the second of her 3 husbands. They had one child that they named: Martha Norvella Boots. Their unit ended in a divorce sometime before 1948.


He is buried in the same cemetery as his ex-wife Freda Simons/Boots/Polm but not by her side.

Marion William Boots, 54, died unexpectedly Monday at his home at 311 E. Sixth St. He had not been ill.


A native of Marion, he was a life resident of this community and was a veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed painter and was a member of Local 469, Painters and Decorators of America.


Mr. Boots was a great-great- grandson of Martin Boots, one of the co-founders of Marion.


Surviving are three brothers. Ray and Fred Boots, both of Marion, and Francis Boots, Minnesota; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Gamble and Mrs. Evelyn Nall, both of Marion, Mrs. Bonnie Smith, Toledo, and Mrs. Hazel Maynard. Gas City.


Funeral services were held Wednesday at Needham and Son Funeral Home, 814 S. Adams St.. with the Rev. Ora Simmons in charge. Burial was made in the IOOF Cemetery.
