Leslie Pettit Hardy was born in Summit County, Ohio on January 4, 1902. He attended Kent State College between 1922 and 1928, and he was inducted into the KSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981. Leslie had a career spanning about 40 years in administration/education at Akron State University. He and Marjorie retired to Florida in the years after their marriage, but he retained close ties to his old alma mater.
