Florence M. Young, 80, of Broadway Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5:18 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Young was born in South Bend on April 24, 1919, and had lived in this area all of her life.
Florence married Rev. John W. Young in Mishawaka on Sept. 24, 1939. He died in October 1952. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lottie (Haager) Kuhl. Florence retired in 1984, having worked for several years as a dental assistant. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Mishawaka and took a very active part in church functions.
Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Jana (Tom) Richards of South Bend; two sons, John W. Young, Jr., of Mishawaka and Jerry L. (Kathy) Young of Edwardsburg, Mich.; three grandchildren, Doug (Melissa) Richards, David (Toni) Richards and Stephen (Debbie) Young; and by six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, in the funeral home, with Rev. Stephen Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
