Funeral services for David Edward Mewbourn Sr., age 75, of Frankston, are scheduled for 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Frankston.
Burial will be held at Frankston City Cemetery.
On May 24, 2010 David Edward Mewbourn Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was born on July 27, 1934 to Walter F. Mewbourn and Mary Bates Mewbourn in Ben Wheeler, TX.
He grew up in East Texas attending Ben Wheeler and Van schools.
He served in the U. S. Air Force.
He has lived the last several years in Frankston, TX and was the owner of Mewbourn Wrecking Service.
David loved riding his mules and horses and going on trail rides with his friends. He loved old country music and dancing.
He is preceded in death by his father Walter F. Mewbourn, sister Janice Golightly, brother W. M. Mewbourn and nephew John Paul Mewbourn.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Mewbourn of Frankston; mother Mary Bates Mewbourn of Van; son David Mewbourn and wife Melissa of Frankston; son Carroll Mewbourn and wife Christy of Accroman, Mississippi; daughter Linda Perry and husband Richard of Elmwood, TX; also Angie and Bobby Lucas, Amy and Chris Martin, Lorie and Bradley Lewis, all of Elysian Field, TX and Joan Cook of Chandler, TX.; brothers Louie Mewbourn of Austin and Paul Mewbourn of Van; sisters Frances Gorham of Van and Joan Cook of Chandler, TX; brother-in-law Carroll Golightly of Stephenville, TX.; 17 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
