I found Dinky as a little fledgling, At the time
I was living in Laie, Oahu...it was a lovely spring morning back in 1984.. I could hear some Mynah birds outside causing a
comotion so I went outback and found a a little fledgling hanging on to a low branch for dear life. The Mynah birds were dive bombing the poor thing, I was able to get him into a softly lined little box , but I wasn't sure if anything was wrong with the little guy , I took him to a exotic bird Vet, who told me that Dinky had a very injured wing, and that he would never be able to be released back into the wild, he showed me how to care for him and taught me what to feed this little bird using a eye dropper, Well Dinky thrived!!
He loved mixed fruits and vegetables and lots of meal worms!...Dinky was a most precious part of my life on Oahu, He was so smart! he could whistle Happy birthday and The Andy Griffith Show theme song and The Laurel and Hardy theme song"The Dancing Cuckoos." I dearly loved that little bird, (he was a little male) ..he will always have a spot deep in my heart.
