Ventriloquist Ray Alan, who found fame with his puppet Lord Charles was best known for his on-stage partnership with the upper class Lord Charles. Ray was a regular face on television from the 1950s until the 1980s. He and Lord Charles made their TV debut on the nostalgic variety show The Good Old Days. He toured in cabaret all over the world and performed with Laurel and Hardy in 1954.
