R.R. Short was the second of five sons of George Thomas "Tom" Short and Dicie Jane Newkirk. He was named after a maternal Great Great Grandfather, Robert Rogers. Some records have his middle name Roger, without the s, but that is incorrect. His headstone says he was born in 1880, but research tells us that he was born in 1878.
