From Story County Watchman April 13, 1894 - Cambridge Press: William L. Graves
was born Feb. 7th, 1816, in Washington Co., New York. He was married in 1835 to
Mary Burgis, and moved to Wisconsin in 1840. Four children, George, Hannah, Isaac and Mary, were born to them, of whom the last two ar now living. Mr. Graves was taken ill Dec. 23d, 1893, and departed this life at 6 A. M., Tuesday,
March 27th, 1894, the cause of demise being dropsy of the heart.

Obituary – Mrs. A. M. Graves – The Maxwell Tribune, Maxwell, Iowa, April 8th, 1920, page 1, column 1 – MRS. A. M. GRAVES – Mrs. Augusta Graves, ...... passed away Saturday. Augusta May Rahrden married to W. L. Graves at Fondulac, Wis.,
May 23, 1869, moved to Iowa in July of the same year and settled on a farm near Cambridge. Eight children were born to this union; Augusta, Willie, Willis, Tilden and Grace are deceased. Fred and Clarence only survive the former living
in Omaha and the latter on the coast. Mr. Graves departed this life March 27, 1894. ....... A short funeral service was conducted at Cooper’s undertaking parlor Tuesday afternoon by W. Edward Purdy, pastor of the Church of Christ.
..... Interment was at Center Grove cemetery west of town.
