He was a loving faithful husband. A strong man who raised nine children. A man of hard work- he started a thriving dairy farm on his place in Pinson Alabama... Shepherds Dairy Farm.
He loved to smoke a pipe and would load each one every morning that he was going to smoke that day.
Papa Shepherd was a long tall man. With his stature and glasses he could seem intimidating.
But the one memory I hold dear is.. I was only three years old (when he died) but I remember standing at his knee as he sat in his rocker... And he would feed me sticks of "Juicy Fruit" gum.
My Mama and Mama Daisy would get after him for doing this but that never stopped him.
I will be adding more as I am able.
