Bettie married James Morton "Pat" Dornan on March 21, 1906. Their children are Wauxie Christine and Emmett Franklin. Pat died on October 19, 1918 in Sedalia, Missouri.

On November 22, 1923, Bettie married William Tell "Will T." Lehman in Sedalia, Missouri. They had a daughter, Dorothea Rose, born April 19, 1927. Will T. died on January 16, 1937 in Fortuna, Missouri.

In Berkeley, June 24, 1966, Rose Elizabeth Hays Lehman of 2338 1/2 Roosevelt Ave., Berkeley. Dearly beloved wife of the late Will T. Lehman. Loving mother of Wauxie C. Larson, Emmett F. Dornan, of Berkeley, and Dorthea R. Abrie of Orinda. Loving sister of Mary Frances Cook of Kansas City, Missouri, and Anna Lehman, of Tipton, Missouri. Devoted aunt of Ethel Hays of Berkeley. Devoted grandmother of Bobby Jack Roach of El Cerrito, Robin Dornan of Los Altos, Vicki Dornan of San Mateo, and Pamela and Patti Abrie of Orinda. Devoted great-grandmother of Sharon Roach, Lori Lynn Diaz and Tamara Pask.

A member of University Christian Church of Berkeley. A native of Missouri, aged 81 years. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Monday, June 27, at 11 a.m. in the Little Chapel of the Flowers, 3051 Adeline Street at Ashby, Berkeley. Dr. Jack E. Finegan officiating. Interment Sunset View Cemetery.
