Bio:

He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the second child of Harry & Anna Pflug. He graduated from high school in 1943 at age 17. When he was 18 he enlisted in the military and served in the Army during WWII. He was stationed in Panama for much of his military service. After the war ended, he went to college at Stevens Institute in Hoboken, NJ, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering in 1950. He worked in NYC where he met his wife and married in 1953. They moved to Northern VA in the mid 1950's so he could take a job with the U.S. Navy. He designed ships for the new nuclear Navy headed by Admiral Rickover. He retired from the Navy in 1983. He loved being retired!

He was a child of God, saved from his sins through his faith in Christ's free gift of salvation while in his 30's. He had a quiet courage and faith.

One of his favorite Bible passages was from the Book of Lamentations, chapter 3, verses 22-26. (It was read at his funeral service)

"It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD."
